I was recently in an accident and my car was taken over to a local collision shop. I wanted to know whether or not I have to have an insurance adjuster check out my car through this or any other collision shop or whether i can just have an adjuster come to the collision shop’s lot and check out the car without me having to pay anything but towing and storage fees to the collision shop. Furthermore, can I be there when the adjuster comes in so that I can view the whole procedure?

I have 2 cars on my insurance coverage. One of them got into an accident. It was not my fault. Now the damaged car is in repaired shop. The insurance company is playing all their tricks to pay me the money. But every month they still send me the bill for coverage of 2 cars. I just wonder if I should not pay the premium for the damaged car since I can’t longer drive it. Anyone has any suggestions?

I recently had my car damaged in one of our Texas storms. It caused about $4000 in damage to the entire left side, hood, and both bumpers, and knocked out two windows. I just got my car back from the “insurance suggested” body shop and I can still see where many of the rock marks were painted over. There are divets in the paint in a lot of spots, which is better than the metal that was showing before, but not how I want it. My question is, shouldn’t they have completely sanded down the areas of the car that needed to be repainted instead of just painting over the paint nicks? The car is a 2006 Mustang that is practically brand new. Maybe I am wrong, but shouldn’t the insurance company be fixing the car to the PERFECT condition it was in before it was damaged?
