Someone hit my rear bumper causing minor damage. I got an estimate for the repairs. Will the insurance comp pay the shop who does the repairs or pay me directly?

Long story short. Not my fault. I can not take this up with my insurance company because I don’t have one. We got his info. My car has 140K miles on it. It’s worth about 2K. It wouldn’t be worth it to fix it. I decided to get the estimate and put the cash to another car. I have not signed anything yet.

Insurance Company Quoted $1013.76
Auto Body Shop $1162.04
Ford Dealership $1284.90

271.14 difference. I asked to split the difference between the auto body shop and the Ford dealership. The Insurance compnay ofcourse said no. What should I do? If I had gone to an auto body repair shop of my choice with 1013.76 in hand they would have called the insurance compnay and asked for them to kick down more money. So I think it’s fair that I get more cash. Don’t even get me started on the medical. My health insurance is getting billed. Not the insurance company.
The guy backed into my car when it was parked. I was not driving it. It was parked to sell it. My BF and I were sitting in the car out of the rain writting out a new for sale sign. My bf drove around after the accident and the car vibrated like crazy. The insurance company didn’t even check the alignment or add it to the estimate. The estimates don’t even include the alignment so there could be more damage.
The medical people are refusing to bill the insurance company responsible. They wanted me to pay up front and get rembursed later or have some other insurance cover it. I didn’t want to wait I had torn musle in my neck, out of alignment and my BF has the same. Any way I can get the Car insurance company billed?
They want me to sign the estimate papers but I don’t plan on it. If I do I won’t cash the check.

I was in an accident on my part. I was planning to switch insurance companies thatweek so cancelled one to use another that i hadn’t finalized yet. My car is pretty nice 2004 14,000 dollar red tinted windows fully automatic…V6. I bought the car several months ago and make monthly payments on it. Now the car is sitting in an auto body shop a car behind me slammed into me and my gas tank was smashed in and my rear crashed in and the back window. Other than that it still drives, all wheels on and front 100 percent in tack, but because of gas tank won’t open and needs replacement an est. cost for repair is 7,000. What should I do? I can’t afford repairs on my own. I realize what an idiot i was to drive without coverage even for a day. Should I just sell my car or to a junk yeard. I’m still making mo. payments on it though. I’m so confused and i have to get it out of lot it is in right now by friday or they will put a lien on it…Yikes……Any advice and useful knowledge ASAP!!!!
WOW…thanks for so many answers…I think i should bring it home and continue making payments on it huh? It was co-owned to make matters terribly worse and i haven’t told the other person. If didn’t may they were the co-signer… so i have no choice.
