I’m a new driver buying my first car–I’m 22, I started a little late. I’m shopping for car insurance, and it’s just so confusing! Which insurer should I go with? What should I look for? How much is too much, and how much is too good to be true? Help!

and if it’s true that being in a no-fault accident won’t affect your rates, why do they ask if i’ve been in an accident in the last 3 years and it wasn’t my fault for it when completing quotes for progressive, geico and etc…

I rear ended someone, and there was no injuries. How long will they take to get a bill from the insurance company? I called the car body shop and they said the car damage was fixable….

If so, does that credit check count towards the number of credit inquiries you have in a given period (negatively)?

I have a good credit history and I want to shop around for car insurance again, even though I will probably not get lower than what I already have. Will this hurt me creditwise?
I’m referring to the number of times you apply for credit. When you apply for credit, they run a credit check and it is unfavorable if someone has a lot of credit checks in a certain time period. I wonder if the same holds true for car insurance?

I recently got into an accident. My co-pay for the damages is 250 dollars, which is what I owe to the body shop that is fixing my car. I owe this at the time I get my car back. My insurance company is writing a check to my father, the primary insurance holder for however much the damages to the car was. I don’t understand how this works…why are we making money from this? I think i’m missing something.

I am purchasing a new car and for the first time car insurance. I’ve been shopping around online and Progressive Direct has the best rates for me. I also looked at getting Progressive through an insurance group in my area, which would cost $30 more per month for the same amount of coverage. Would it be worth the extra $30 per month to get the insurance through an insurance agency in my area?

Have you had any good or bad experiences with Progressive Direct car insurance?

Hi everyone. I am shopping for car insurance and want to know the best but most affordable out there. My mother thought to put me on her policy with Progressive and I would pay her for the insurance, but they were going to charge her over $500.00 to do so. My friend has gotten into two accidents and hasn’t had to pay nearly that much , and neither did her dad when he put her on his policy.

The dent is on the driver side of a 2006 Honda Civic EX over the rear tire. Should I report this to my insurance company then get it fixed or just take it stright to a body shop? Looks like it was slightly dented in with a shopping cart while i was at the store, not to bad but noticeable with the smoothness of that part of the car’s body frame. Which was is cheaper or better for me as a owner, car was purchased in July brand new off the lot of this year.

I was driving into a shopping center & was @ the entrance. I was making sure that there was no incoming cars on the left side because i was trying to make a right. Suddenly, I hear this loud noise, like metal being rubbed on cement. I turn to my right and I see a car driving on the sidewalk, over Chipotle’ patio furniture. Then in the process of him trying to get off the sidewalk, he runs into my car, passenger side and slides against my car. He continues to go straight and drives over a medium and hits an Escalade. He is stuck on the medium and tries to get off, but cant. He got out and stood there, like nothing happened. As soon as he heard the cops, he ran off, but they caught him. He had no liscense, no papers, cant even speak english. I may have heard that the car has insurance. Basically i dont know what to do, my insurance wont pay & im def not payin. I tried callin the cop that handled my situation 2 get info on insurance of the other car/guy, but so far no reply. HELP!
